is it time to replace your air conditioning system?
Why Bosch?
Let’s start with the package heat pump systems…the bosch difference
THERE TRULY IS NO OTHER COMPARABLE SYSTEM LIKE IT.
Bosch has developed the first and only line of inverter package heat pump systems, consisting of two models, the IDP 5-ton, which serves from 3 to up to 5-tons of capacity; and the IDP 3-ton, pictured above, which serves capacities of 1.5 to 3-tons.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF AN “INVERTER”?
THE BOSCH’S INVERTER COMPRESSOR MAKES IT THE ONLY VARIABLE SPEED, VARIABLE CAPACITY HVAC SYSTEM AVAILABLE IN A ROOFTOP PACKAGE UNIT; LITERALLY THE MOST ADVANCED PACKAGE HEAT PUMP IN THE WORLD.
Bosch has pioneered the inclusion of a variable capacity compressor (read: saves the most money on electrical operating costs) in a package system. Other brands have claimed to have systems like this in development, but so far, Bosch is the only system that has been delivered to market. Bosch has been a leader and innovator in inverter technology, with lines of ductless mini-split systems, ducted split systems, as well as a long history of manufacturing the technology (not to mention their long history of leading the geothermal heat pump technology).
Bosch has now leaped to the front of the pack, as the only manufacturer who has been able to integrate this money-saving technology taking over the HVAC industry into a rooftop unit.
Inverters save money by having the ability to vary the compressor’s speed and output capacity, and therefore the entire system’s capacity, based on the load demand of the situation, as any refrigeration system’s biggest energy draw is its compressor. This allows the AC or heat pump system, that in the old days would have been either 100% on or 100% off, no matter the weather or the conditions inside the space, to adjust to the varying conditions inside and outside the space, maintain the conditioned space at the desired temperatures and humidity levels, while using A LOT less energy in the process. Simply put, the Bosch inverter package units save their owners the most money out of any package units available on the market today, while delivering every bit (and more) of the comfort we all desire inside our homes.
is there a rebate available for purchasing these systems?
SRP (SALT RIVER PROJECT OF ARIZONA) OFFERS UP TO AN $1125 REBATE ON THE INSTALLATION BOSCH SYSTEMS.
These systems are much more affordable than one might otherwise think, even without the rebate, given the substantial capacity of the Bosch IDP systems to save you money on your electric bill. If you’re an SRP customer, Quantum Climate Control Services will fill out all the paperwork needed for you to obtain the SRP rebate savings, submit the rebate for you, but also issue the rebate to you as an instant rebate as savings off of the installed price of the system, saving you the hassle of dealing with any paperwork, in most cases. The price you’ll pay for the system, in this case, is the final price, with the available SRP rebate already taken from the price. Typically, after the rebate savings, one of these money-saving Bosch IDS systems only costs about $1000 more than the lowest efficiency models available (14-SEER) on a 5-ton system (the largest size of a residential system), but it’s entirely possible that the cost difference would be paid for in electrical bill savings in the first year or two of operation, and would be a savings well beyond that in every year to follow.
WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON BOSCH SYSTEMS?
BOSCH SYSTEMS, WHEN INSTALLED BY BOSCH-CERTIFIED ABC CONTRACTORS, CARRY AN 11-YEAR WARRANTY ON PARTS.
Bosch has a certification program, the Accredited Bosch Contractor program, or ABC, which entitles systems installed by ABC contractors to an extra year of warranty coverage over and above the standard 10-year parts warranty. In addition, Quantum Climate Control Services offers a two-year labor warranty on any system installed. Bosch stands behind their quality above any other manufacturer of heating and air conditioning equipment we’ve seen, and this makes it easy for us to recommend these systems to our customers - after all, we are the ones who have to fix problems when they arise with equipment, so we take this very seriously. Bosch’s quality and craftsmanship is absolutely second to none.
is there anything else UNIQUE ABOUT THE BOSCH SYSTEMS?
BOSCH IS THE ONLY VARIABLE CAPACITY SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A SPECIAL THERMOSTAT TO RECEIVE THE FULL BENEFIT OF ITS PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES.
All other manufacturers of high efficiency, variable capacity HVAC equipment require a special “communicating” thermostat that is only available through the particular manufacturer of the equipment. With Bosch, any thermostat can be used (such as an Ecobee or Nest, Honeywell, etc), and the full benefit of the system’s capability to be energy efficient and perform effectively is left completely intact. The Bosch system’s “magic” and system diagnostics are all contained in advanced controls for the compressor inside the unit itself, which do not rely on any data provided by these special manufacturer’s thermostats. This frees Bosch system owners to continue to use a thermostat they’re familiar with, utilize a home kit or the wi-fi thermostat they already like, eliminates the need to put yet another app onto their smartphones (communicating thermostats have their own apps that may not work or integrate with a home kit and other smart home devices and programs), allows for replacement of thermostats with “off the shelf” models should problems arise down the road with their thermostats, and avoids the need for the added expense of these communicating thermostat models.
BOSCH IDP SYSTEMS PERFORM AT SEER RATINGS OF 18.5 AND HIGHER - NO OTHER MANUFACTURER CAN MATCH THIS IN A ROOFTOP/PACKAGE HVAC SYSTEM.
Some manufacturers have taken advantage of two-stage compressors, which provide energy efficiency ratings up to 16, but no other manufacturer has been able to integrate completely VARIABLE capacity refrigeration technology like Bosch has done here. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and it is certified by an industry-recognized organization, AHRI, the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute. AHRI’s SEER rating is the HVAC industry’s gold-standard to compare the performance, side-by-side, of different air conditioning systems. The rating tells the actual ratio, at standardized, given conditions, of the amount of electricity used to do the amount of refrigeration work the system is designed to do (BTUs per hour of heat removed/watts of power used). If comparing two 3-ton (refrigeration system capacity) air conditioning or heat pump systems, for instance, a 16 SEER system will use less energy than a 14 or 15 SEER system. There are no manufacturers that are even coming close to what the Bosch systems achieve.
BOSCH HAS MADE TWO SYSTEM SIZES THAT ARE FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH SYSTEMS WITH CAPACITIES BETWEEN 1.5 AND 5-TONS.
Bosch has engineered their IDP systems to need only two units, a 3-ton unit for 1.5 up to 3-ton systems, and a 5-ton unit for system capacities from 3.5 to 5-tons. Since the systems are of variable capacity capability, it made perfect sense for Bosch to cut manufacturing costs by designing only two systems that can be field-adjusted as needed to meet the size demand of the conditioned space involved. This is one part of the brilliance of the system’s design platform that has allowed for costs of such a money-saving machine to remain close to systems with lower performances.
